What a week! Week 2 was packed with unforgettable moments, lots of laughs, and nonstop fun. Camp is buzzing with energy and spirit, and it’s clear the kids are loving every minute. We kicked things off with a cozy trip to the movies on a rainy Monday—the perfect way to start the week. On Tuesday, Bunks 17 and 8 surprised the Juniors with a theme day “break”: Rainbow Rush for the girls and Stanley Cup Day for the boys—the kids had a blast!

Wednesday brought all the magic, with Halloween in July for our Juniors and Inters, and a spectacular Senior Prom for our oldest campers. The Dining Hall was transformed into a silent disco—glowing lights, great music, and delicious late-night snacks made it a night to remember.

On Thursday, we said goodbye to our amazing Starter Camp campers—we miss them already and can’t wait to see them all again next year!

On the outdoor adventure front, Bunks 9, 12, and 18 went on their overnights to St. Agathe, while back at camp there was frog catching, fishing, bonfires, and plenty of marshmallows. The fun didn’t stop after dark, with Clue for the Seniors, bonfires and s’mores, and pool parties. Our international staff introduced our campers to an amazing version of Bingo called Bongos Bingo—kids had a great time dancing, singing, and playing!

Our Inter boys showed their skills on the basketball court, while the Senior boys faced off in an exciting soccer tournament. We were also thrilled to welcome back Trails of Summer on Wednesday—it was incredibly heartwarming to watch our campers connect and engage with their campers in such a meaningful way.

We were also treated to an epic weekend of football! The Canadian Flag Football Team was one player short, and the two top prospects were none other than Kris and Cory. With only one roster spot available, the camp rallied around a two-day showdown on the football field. From Juniors to High Seniors, everyone got involved—with games under the lights, tons of camp spirit, and excitement in the air. There was a tailgate-style dinner, campers singing the national anthem, a halftime show to remember, and plenty of tasty snacks to enjoy while cheering from the sidelines. Congrats to Team Kris for taking home the overall win!

It was truly a fantastic week, and Week 3 is already shaping up to be just as exciting. We’re counting down the days until Visiting Day this Sunday, and we can’t wait to welcome you all to camp!

Trails of Summer

Every summer, we have the privilege of welcoming Trails of Summer, a camp for kids with special needs, to spend the afternoon at Wingate. It’s a visit we all look forward to. Watching our kids interact with kindness is one of those quiet highlights that stays with you long after the day is done.

A true highlight of the week—welcoming the campers and staff from Trials of Summer to Wingate.

Juniors this Week

Hi Junior camper families,

The Junior Section had an action-packed week at camp! Things kicked off with a trip to the movies on Monday—a perfect rainy-day treat that everyone enjoyed. Throughout the week, the Juniors were busy playing gaga and tetherball. Ball hockey was particularly popular this week, along with waterskiing! The lake was the perfect way to cool down after our hot and busy days.

Wednesday was full of excitement with our big Halloween in July. Campers dressed up for a costume parade, went trick-or-treating for candy, and ended the night with a special late-night feast featuring McDonald’s and pizza!

On Thursday, we sadly said goodbye to our two-week campers. We can’t wait to see them back at Wingate next year!

By Friday, we enjoyed a lovely Shabbat dinner before launching into our much-anticipated Super Bowl weekend—Team Kris vs. Team Cory! On Saturday, the Super Bowl continued with team tryouts, training, football games, and a huge camp-wide marathon. Sunday wrapped up the week with cheer and pompom making and many more football games. To finish it all off, the whole camp gathered to watch the Senior Boys’ game while enjoying some special treats. After a thrilling finish, Team Kris took home the win!

It has been an incredible week full of memories, fun, and team spirit. We can’t wait to see what next week brings!

Warmly,

Laura

Inters this Week

It’s been a jam-packed, exciting time here at Wingate! Monday was movie day—the rainy weather called for a theatre trip. The entire camp got on the bus to Ste. Adèle, where campers had the option to watch Jurassic World, How to Train Your Dragon, or F1.

Tuesday morning, the Inters had their two specialty periods—activities they selected themselves at the start of the week. They cooked, played tennis, ball hockey, basketball, went fishing, and more!

Wednesday evening was Halloween in July! Even though it’s summer, the Inters trick-or-treated around different spots in camp. Afterward, we all gathered in the Dining Hall for some delicious treats and a silent disco. Each camper got their own pair of headphones with multiple music channels—it was SO much fun!

Thursday was bittersweet as we said goodbye to our two-week campers. We can’t wait to see you all again next summer! Meanwhile, the Inter boys went fishing and had a blast. The Bunk 16 boys had an overnight in camp and loved it.

On Friday, the Inter girls made challah in preparation for Shabbat dinner, and the Bunk 11 boys had a great time doing pottery. That night’s evening activity was our Friday Night Program—with a twist... Super Bowl was announced! This year’s teams were Team Kris and Team Cory.

Saturday, the Inters began preparing their plays and halftime show performance, and even made pompoms to cheer their teams on. The day ended with the Super Bowl Marathon, where Team Cory clinched a very close win! We wrapped up the night watching the High Senior Girls’ game under the lights.

Sunday was game day! The Inters played their games and left it all on the field. They played their hearts out and had a great time! In the evening, we cheered on the High Senior boys during their game and were treated to a great halftime show and some fun Super Bowl snacks.

In the end, Team Kris won this year’s Super Bowl—it truly was an amazing weekend at camp!

We had a great week in the Inter Section, and we can’t wait to see what next week has in store!

Warmly,

Daniela

Seniors this Week

What an unforgettable week in the Senior Section! From fierce competition to fabulous costumes, our oldest campers brought the energy, spirit, and tons of laughter to every event.

The Senior boys kicked things off with an epic soccer tournament, where teams faced off in friendly, high-energy matchups that brought out everyone’s competitive side.

On Wednesday, the whole section attended Senior Prom, where campers paired up or grouped together in fun and creative costumes. The night ended on a high note with a silent disco—and while the music was quiet, the dance moves definitely weren’t!

We also took part in many fun and new evening activities. The section had a blast in a full-camp mystery with a live-action game of Clue, where both campers and counselors became characters in a suspenseful adventure.

To top it all off, we ended the week with Super Bowl, where every bunk hit the field for some spirited football fun. A huge shoutout to our High Senior Camper Captains—Sofia Litwin, Chloe Sidel, Lior Shragi, and Nate Heisler—who led their teams with enthusiasm, heart, and true senior spirit!

From start to finish, this week was packed with fun and unforgettable memories.

Go Seniors!
