Week 3 brought the sunshine—and the fun! With hot, sunny days, we made the most of every minute at the waterfront. From kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, sailing, and swimming, campers soaked up the best of summer.

Some highlights of this week included a magical Fairy Night for our junior girls, an exciting game of Human Clue, and a meaningful “Giving Game” in pottery. Intercamp competitions were in full swing, and our campers proudly represented Wingate against CBB and YCC in soccer, basketball, ball hockey, and Newcomb ball. Go Wingate!

On Sunday, we were thrilled to welcome all our families to camp. The weather was perfect, and seeing campers reunite with their parents was truly heartwarming. We loved sharing our home away from home with you. It was an amazing Visiting Day!

That evening, everyone cozied up in their PJs for a movie night in the Wingate Hall—until the night took a thrilling turn with an epic surprise: the break for Wingate Wars on the beach! The Sun Heroes and Moon Knights have begun their battle for control of the lake.

Good luck to both teams—stay tuned to see who emerges victorious!

We ended the week strong on Friday with our Friday Night Program, where we gave out Core Value Awards and our many Super Bowl MVPs were celebrated for their awesome energy and teamwork from the previous week, followed by a late-night ice cream treat.

Saturday Sing Song was full of heart and harmony, and on Sunday, we welcomed families for a very special Visiting Day. It was beautiful to see the campers and families all together at Wingate.

As the weekend came to a close, we said a warm and emotional goodbye to our 3-week campers. We’re so proud of all they have experienced and achieved, and we know they’re heading home with memories that will last a lifetime.

Warmly,

Laura

Inters this Week

Hi Wingate Families!

It’s Daniela, the Inter Section Head. We’ve had a fun-filled week here at camp!

Monday was our first day back to our regular schedule after Super Bowl, and the Inters jumped right back into it with lots of energy! The girls had archery while the boys played basketball. On Tuesday, the boys played volleyball while the girls had a blast playing basketball. That evening, the whole section came together for a fun game of Clue. Bunk 11 went on their overnight and had a great time.

Wednesday started with Inter specialties, where campers had activities they chose themselves. In the afternoon, we had Intercamp. Bunk 19 and 2 girls played basketball, and Bunk 16 and 11 played ball hockey and soccer. The girls won their basketball game and the boys won in soccer—go Wingate! Afterwards, it was time for sun and swim. That night, the Inter girls had a trivia night. Bunk 2 also headed out on their overnight and had a wonderful time.

Thursday, the girls showed off their creativity at drama, while the Bunk 11 boys enjoyed a morning of fishing. Later, Bunk 11 played a late-night football game under the lights. The evening wrapped up with a fun Bingo game with a twist for the whole section.

Friday, the Bunk 2 girls enjoyed a tennis session, and in the evening, we all came together for Shabbat. We sang Hatikvah, said the prayers, and had a Shabbat dinner as a camp. At our Friday Night Program, we celebrated the staff of the week, announced our Super Bowl MVPs, and gave out Core Value Awards.

We finished off the week with a camp favourite—Sing Song! And of course, Sunday was one of the most special days of all—Visiting Day! It was such a joy seeing all our campers reunite with their families. Thank you to everyone who came and made the day so memorable!
