The rain didn't slow us down! Week 5 was packed with rainy-day activities, a carnival, water slides, Gotcha, Weekend Camp, and an incredible intercamp dance competition. Get ready for an unforgettable final week at Wingate!

🏆 Wingate Sports Weekly Recap

Bunk Series

⚽ '67 Cup

Bunk 5 forced a Game 7 thanks to a dominant performance from Jude Sheff (5 three-pointers, 1 two-pointer) in a 50–37 victory.

Bunk 5 went on to win Game 7 in a thrilling 2–1 penalty shootout.

Shea Uttamchandani scored the game-winning penalty kick.

🏆 23 & Me Cup (Bunk 11 vs. Bunk 12)

Bunk 11 and Bunk 12 faced off in the 23 & Me Cup, a best-of-three series to determine this year's champions. Every game counted as the two bunks battled for bragging rights and the coveted trophy.

Game 1

Bunk 11 pulled off a thrilling upset over the older Bunk 12, earning a 3–2 victory in a penalty shootout to take a 1–0 series lead. Max Benezra scored twice to give Bunk 12 an early advantage, but Bunk 11 battled back before goalkeeper Harley Rosenthal delivered a standout performance in the shootout to seal the win.

🥣 Bowling for Soup Cup (Bunk 8 vs. Bunk 5)

Bunk 8 and Bunk 5 squared off in the Bowling for Soup Cup, a best-of-three series that promised plenty of excitement and friendly competition.

Game 1

Following a script similar to the 23 & Me Cup, the older Bunk 8 jumped out to a 2–0 lead before Bunk 5 stormed back to tie the game. This time, however, the veterans held their nerve in the penalty shootout to avoid the upset. Mikey Saskin and Miles Michelin scored for Bunk 8, while Tyler Richman and Jude Sheff found the back of the net for Bunk 5.

🥏 Frisbee Golf

After the mysterious disappearance of the coveted Wingate Blue Jacket last week, all Frisbee Golf activities were temporarily suspended while the investigation unfolded. In a surprising twist, the jacket mysteriously reappeared on Friday evening, allowing play to resume just in time for the final week of camp.

🏀 Inter Tournament (Bunks 11 & 17)

The mixed basketball tournament was won by the Red Flags. Harley Rosenthal hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer that proved to be the difference in the championship game.
