Many of our staff have grown up at Wingate as campers and have graduated to become staff, bringing with them their experience and understanding of the Wingate community. Alongside our local staff, we hire a wealth of staff from all over the world who bring their unique perspective to camp.
All our staff participate in our on-site pre-camp training. Staff learn about caring for the health and wellbeing of campers, emergency procedures, behaviour management techniques, leadership skills, and camp expectations.
Waterfront staff and activity specialists also participate in any relevant special training and certifications, including lifeguarding & first aid courses, boat driving courses, and wall climbing certifications.
All of our staff are CPR certified.
Our camp infirmary is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with our medical team. Our team consists of our camp doctor, nurses and our infirmary coordinator. Most medical issues can be managed in camp by our staff, however we are 10 minutes away from the St. Agathe hospital if needed.
We have an orthodontic kit in camp which our medical staff is trained to use for minor fixes. If it is something we cannot fix in camp, we will be in touch to let you know.
